Barnabas House is located in a quiet position in the pretty town of Yelverton, which lies on the western edge of Dartmoor National Park. There are so many ways to enjoy a break at Barnabas House, you’ll hardly know where to begin…

Dartmoor is heaven for those who love the outdoors with excellent walking, cycling, horseriding, sailing, fishing and golf. A little further afield you’ll find the wide beaches and dramatic cliffs of the north Devon coast, while to the south is rolling countryside, pretty coves and picturesque harbours.

Those looking for a gourmet break will be spoilt for choice; there are many great pubs offering excellent food, or for a real treat there are a number of prestigious restaurants nearby, including Gidleigh Park and Lewtrenchard Manor.

History surrounds us here, with some of the finest National Trust properties on our doorstep - Buckland Abbey (once the home of Sir Francis Drake), Cotehele House, Saltram House, Castle Drogo and Lydford Gorge all make great days out.

There are attractions nearby to suit every interest. Well worth a visit are The Garden House (is this the best garden in Britain?), the Yelverton Paperweight Centre, Morwellham Quay, Becky Falls Woodland Park, The Dartmoor Railway and The Miniature Pony Centre. Within an hour’s drive are the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Buckfast Abbey, The Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary and Buckfast Butterflies.
